Immigrant Townhall

Greater Minnesota Worker Center joined with local leaders from the Community Defense Roundtable in hosting an immigrant townhall to explore areas of concern and interest for immigrant residents in our community.

Community residents came out to talk about issues in immigration, housing quality and accessibility, food access, youth education, adult learning opportunities, and more.

The United Leaders’ Community Defense Roundtable is a rapid response infrastructure, legal support, and community organizing framework to protect immigrant workers and families from deportations, workplace abuses, and systemic discrimination. By expanding outreach, strengthening worker protections, and engaging in policy advocacy, the CDR creates a sustainable immigrant rights movement in Central Minnesota. Our leader-partners meet monthly to plan, strategize, and execute our goals in training the community for Know Your Rights, organizing canvassing activities in impacted areas, strengthening our rapid response systems and network, pushing policy resolutions that support immigrant protections, and mobilizing immigrant workers.
