Celebrating Karin’s Graduation from MULP

On May 21, 2026, Greater Minnesota Worker Center proudly celebrated the graduation of our Organizing Director, Karin Blythe, from the University of Minnesota’s Minnesota Union Leadership Program (MULP).

For the past eight months, Karin joined a cohort of emerging and experienced labor leaders from across Minnesota in an intensive leadership development program designed to strengthen the labor movement and equip organizers with the tools needed to meet the challenges facing working people today.

Now in its 15th cohort, the Minnesota Union Leadership Program brings together worker activists through six in-depth sessions focused on the history, present, and future of worker movements. Participants explore topics including worker culture and power, the changing labor movement, media and narrative, labor as a social movement, strategies for building worker power, and creating the labor movement needed for a more just and equitable future. The program also emphasizes relationship-building, collaboration, and learning across organizations and social movements.

Karin’s participation reflects Greater Minnesota Worker Center’s commitment to investing in leadership that strengthens workers, immigrant communities, and the broader movement for economic and social justice. The knowledge, skills, and relationships developed through MULP will continue to inform our organizing, advocacy, and leadership development work throughout Central Minnesota.
