Workers and Community Members Unite for the 86 ICE La Migra Day of Action
On February 13, 2026, workers, community members, labor allies, faith leaders, immigrant rights advocates, and families across Minnesota came together for the 86 ICE La Migra Day of Action, a powerful demonstration of solidarity with immigrant communities and a call for dignity, safety, and justice for all workers.
The Greater Minnesota Worker Center (GMWC) was proud to stand alongside community members and partner organizations participating in this important movement. We are especially grateful to the leadership of CTUL (Centro de Trabajadores Unidos en la Lucha), whose organizing and vision helped bring together workers and allies from across the state to raise awareness about the impacts of immigration enforcement on Minnesota families and workplaces.
What Is 86 ICE La Migra About?
The 86 ICE La Migra movement is rooted in the belief that immigrant workers deserve to live, work, and support their families without fear. The movement brings attention to the ways immigration enforcement actions can affect workers, families, local businesses, and entire communities.
Participants in the movement advocate for policies that protect workers’ rights, strengthen communities, and create pathways toward meaningful immigration reform. The movement also seeks to highlight the essential contributions that immigrant workers make every day throughout Minnesota’s industries, schools, neighborhoods, and local economies.
At its core, the movement emphasizes solidarity, community power, and the principle that all workers deserve dignity and respect regardless of immigration status.
The Leadership of CTUL
For years, CTUL has organized workers, developed grassroots leadership, and advocated for economic and social justice throughout Minnesota. Their commitment to empowering workers and immigrant communities continues to inspire organizations and community members across the state.
By bringing together workers, allies, labor organizations, and community advocates, CTUL has helped build a movement that centers the experiences of those most directly affected while creating opportunities for broader community participation and solidarity.
We are grateful for their leadership and proud to stand alongside them in this work.
In solidarity,
Greater Minnesota Worker Center
